Maria A. Lopez, M.D., FAAP
Dr. Lopez is a Board Certified Pediatrician. She attended the Medical School at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Medellin, Colombia. She worked in Colombia as general practitioner after graduating from medical school gaining experience in Emergency Care, Surgery, Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and gynecology, and Pediatrics. She completed her Pediatric Residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine – Montefiore Medical Center in New York City. She completed her residency in anesthesia at St. Elizabeth Hospital – Tufts University in Boston, MA. She has been practicing Pediatrics in New London County since 1996. Dr. Lopez is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and a member of AAP Administration Chapter. Dr. Lopez is bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish. She enjoys working with patients of all ages (from birth to 21 years) and has special interest in behavioral issues, adolescent medicine and gynecology, international adoptions, and international travel.

Michelle A. Cretella M.D., FAAP
Dr. Cretella grew up in Barrington, RI. She received her medical degree in 1994 from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in pediatrics at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut. She is board certified in general pediatrics with special interests in preventative medicine, learning disabilities and adolescent health.

Brenda McNeil, A.P.R.N.
Brenda is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She has many years of clinical experience. Past experiences range from critical care to home care. She has been practicing in New London County as a Nurse Practitioner since 1994. Prior to joining Flanders Pediatrics she ran a School Based Health Center at New London High School. Ms. McNeil enjoys working with children of all ages and has special interests in adolescent health, obesity, nutrition counseling, asthma management and parenting skills.

We have admitting privileges at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, CT. When your child needs a specialist, our pediatricians will refer to colleagues at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital or the major hospitals in Connecticut such as Yale New Haven Hospital and Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford.
