Dear Parents and Guardians,

Due to the decrease in COVID cases, our patients are no longer required to check-in for their appointments from the car; you are welcome to come into the office. Please be advised that we allow one parent per patient except for parents of newborns.

We ask that you please keep your mask on at all times and maintain the recommended social distancing while in the building. Thank you so much for your attention and participation.

Our Services

WELL CHILD VISITS

Children should visit the pediatrician for well-child exams beginning a few days after they leave the hospital at birth up until age 20. At these visits, we will track the progression of your child’s development, as well as administer immunizations and schedule laboratory testing when needed.

It is important to come to these visits with any questions or concerns you may have about your child’s health. We can provide further medical treatment or referrals to specialists if necessary. During a well-child visit, we will document height and weight as well as check the eyes, ears, nose, heartbeat, breathing, reflexes and more. We will ensure your child is reaching the appropriate developmental milestones.

IMMUNIZATIONS

It is essential that your child receive the correct immunizations at the appropriate times. Immunizations are completely safe and help protect your child from contracting and spreading infectious diseases that are easily prevented. In addition, many children need certain vaccines before entering school. Your child’s doctor will keep track of which vaccinations your child needs and when they should be administered.

Check out this website for more useful information about vaccinating your family:

GYNECOLOGICAL

We offer a comprehensive range of services for the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of children and adolescents with female reproductive system (gynecologic) needs, but not limited to:

  • Preventive health and guidance for teens and parents

  • Menstrual problems

  • Genital (vulvar or vaginal) infection or pain

  • Pelvic pain

  • Genital anomalies

  • Endocrine (hormonal) problems

  • Pregnancy prevention (contraception)

  • Breast problems

  • Abnormal puberty

  • Adolescent sexual health

BEHAVIORAL

Our pediatricians have the training and expertise to evaluate and care for children with developmental, learning, and related problems. Working collaboratively with families, we evaluate, counsel, and provide treatment for children and adolescents with a wide range of difficulties, including:

  • Developmental disabilities, such as autism spectrum disorders (ASD).

  • Delayed development in speech, language, motor skills, and thinking ability

  • Attention and behavioral disorders, such as attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and such conditions as oppositional-defiant behavior, conduct problems, depression, and anxiety disorders

  • Regulatory disorders, such as sleep disorders, feeding problems, and discipline difficulties

TRAVEL HEALTH

Traveling with children can be a wonderful, but sometimes challenging, experience. Normal routines are thrown out the window, and a new environment with different food, germs and people can sometimes lead to sickness. This visit allow our providers to make recommendations regarding travel medications, vaccines, and illness prevention.

PRE-NATAL VISIT

Expectant parents (including adoptive parents) are encouraged to schedule a prenatal appointment. This visit allows the pediatrician to gather basic information from the expectant parents, offer them advice, identify high risk conditions and answer any questions that you may have.

LACTATION SERVICES

Breastfeeding is a natural and beneficial source of nutrition and provides the healthiest start for an infant. In addition to the nutritional benefits, breastfeeding promotes a unique and emotional connection between mother and baby.

If you are expecting or when your child is born, our lactation consultant is available for one-on-one consultations.

Dear Parents,

Fall is approaching faster than ever! As your child or children are preparing for the start of school, keep in mind that physicals are needed to head into the new school year and flu shot season is just around the corner. Hello Parents,

Our office has been experiencing an influx of calls requesting COIVD tests for our asymptomatic patients that have been exposed to COIVD. We want to provide resources that will help you find COVID testing. We have attached a link that will take you to the YNHHS website and to Ledge light. These sites will allow you to schedule COVID testing without an order from your physician.

https://covidtesting2.ynhhs.org and https://llhd.org/

If your child is experiencing any COVID symptoms without exposure, please call the office to schedule an appointment. We are not currently offering in-house testing for exposure cases or returning to school. Due to limited supply and demand, we are using the test for children exhibiting symptoms without exposure. Our office is currently unable to accommodate the current demand for testing.

We are always here for you and our patients; please do not hesitate to reach out with any needs.

We thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

Flanders Pediatrics.
